World Book Day
Next Thursday 3rd March is World Book Day. This is a great opportunity to get children enthusiastic about reading! Each pupil will receive a free £1 book token which can be spent in a variety of local shops on a special £1 World Book Day book or put towards another title.
In celebration we are holding a competition for all the pupils in school:
PUPIL CHALLENGE – have your photograph taken while reading somewhere unusual
Pupils should bring in their photographs to school by Wednesday 2nd March. The top three entrants will win a bookish prize.
I have noticed a small number of pupils being dropped off before 8.55 a.m. Could I take this opportunity to remind all parents drop off time is from 8.55 until 9.10 a.m. If you wish to drop your child off before this please avail of either Breakfast Club from 8.00 a.m. (£1.55 per day) or Early Birds from 8.30 a.m. (£1.00 per day).
Reminder: the P6/7 trip to Woodhall is next week. Please send any outstanding money to school. The children were each given a kit list, if you have misplaced yours, or did not receive one please request another copy from your child’s teacher. I encourage all parents to ensure they include all the items listed as outdoor activities tend to require a lot of clothing.
Sainsbury’s Active Kids
Sainsbury’s Active Kids is back supporting schools to get free sports and cooking equipment. Each time you shop you’ll receive one voucher for every £10.00 spent.
The vouchers are available in store now and the scheme runs until 3rd May so be sure to ask friends and family to send you their vouchers too! A collection box is available outside the school office
We are delighted that our football coach is able to continue football on Mondays to make up for the weeks missed.
Netball Club has been postponed due to lack of interest.
