Class Assembly
A massive well done to our P4/5 class for performing so well during their class Assembly on Thursday. Thank you to all the parents and friends who attended – we hope you enjoyed the show! Uniform It is lovely to see all our children wearing full school uniform every day to school and visitors often comment on how ‘smart and well presented’ our children look. If for some reason your child needs to wear other clothes or shoes, please send a note to the class teacher explaining why.

Parent Consultations
Parent Consultations for pupils in Reception – Primary 6 will take place between Monday 12th February and Wednesday 14th February. Transfer Consultations for Primary 7 pupils will take place on Wednesday 31st January. More details will follow.

AQE Results
Best wishes to Caitlin, Louise, Fergus, Daisy, Alex, Sunita, Harry, Rebecca & Celina who will receive their AQE results on Saturday. We are all so proud of you.

Half Term
School will be closed for pupils from Thursday 15th February to Tuesday 20th February (inclusive) for half term holidays.

World Book Day
On Thursday 1st March we will be celebrating World Book Day. We are asking that children come to school that day dressed up as a favorite character from a book. We look forward to celebrating a themed day in school.

Clothes Recycling A note from Murray one of our Eco Club members…

After Schools
We will be running a new choice of After School clubs after half term holidays. If you or someone you know would be able to run a club within school, one day per week, over 5 weeks please pass on any details to Dawn. Many Thanks.

Friends of Dunseverick Smartie Tubes
If possible we would like any remaining smartie tubes to be returned to school on or before Wednesday 14th February. Valentines Disco – Tickets being sent home for this event next week.

Student Support Services
We have been asked by Student Support Services to distribute leaflets to all families in school. Reply slips should be returned by Friday 2nd February.

Class Assembly

Mr Bell’s P4/5 class will be taking assembly on Thursday 25th January at 9.30am. Parents and friends of children in P4/5 will be invited to come along and enjoy the assembly and enjoy some tea/coffee and scones after.

 

Weather

Thank you for being so understanding regarding the weather this week. The safety of our children and staff is paramount in every decision we make.  I would also like to thank all the staff for making the journeys to school so that we could keep school running as normal.  A special thanks to Lilia our caretaker for ensuring pathways were cleared and gritted.

Monthly Stars & Accelerated Reader

Well done to Rose, Alexis, Miley, Bethany, Emma, Naomi and Sunita who all got monthly stars this month for the fantastic presentation in their work.

Emily, Charlie L, Lucy, Hannah, Murray, Naomi C and Rebecca all achieved AR certificates for enthusiasm in reading and using sounds when reading.

A massive well done to Harry in P5 who has become the 3rd person to become a Word Millionaire – Congratulations.

 

Milk

Still a few outstanding. If payment is not received we will assume your child no longer wants to take milk. The cost for the term is £11.13.

Weather Update

With a yellow warning for snow and ice in place, Please keep an eye on the school facebook page and website for any updates regarding school closures! Unless you hear from us via text message we will be open. Public transport may be affected, so the school blue bus may not run. We do not control this, Translink does. Children should be dressed warmly, especially when it comes to footwear. Thank you.
