Pupils from Primary 6 and 7 visited Tesco in Coleraine to take part in a fork to farm trail. They looked at the produce and its country of origin, tried to find things in the freezer department they hadn’t tasted, experienced the chiller room and had a talk from the baker. The children thoroughly enjoyed decorating Danish pastries and sampling them and also enjoyed eating some melon. The children also then had the opportunities to work on the tills and experience working life as a cashier. A big thanks to Derek Loughlin, the store manager for inviting us in and also to Audrey and Laura for taking the children on the trail.
