Wednesday Letter – 2nd April 2014

Dear Parents and Friends,

Term 2 Finish Date

Due to the unavailability of NEELB transport and meals, school will now finish for all pupils on Wednesday 16th April 2014 and NOT Thursday 17th April 2014 as earlier indicated. Normal finishing times will apply on Wednesday 16th April 2014 for all pupils. School will reopen on Monday 28th April 2014. I would like to apologise for the late notice of this change and appreciate your understanding on the matter.

P5 and P6/7 Residential Trip Meetings

A meeting has been arranged in school for parents of P5 pupils attending Bushmills Education Centre for Thursday 10th April at 3.30pm.A meeting for parents of P6 and P7 pupils attending Woodhall Centre has been arranged for Tuesday 29th April at 3.15pm. Both meetings have been organised for this time to enable Centre staff to come out and explain the format of the residential trips and to answer any questions. Copies of medical forms and an information sheet have been sent out with today’s letter. The medical form should be fully completed and returned to your child’s class teacher on or before the date of the meeting. If any parents are unable to attend the relevant meeting, they can contact the school beforehand should there be any specific questions for Centre staff.

Building Update

Mervyn Storey MLA recently arranged a meeting for Reverend Barton and myself at the NEELB in connection with our school building. Issues with the present building were raised and discussed. NEELB staff have assured us that they will visit the school early in the summer term to carry out an initial survey, with a view to carrying out minor works in the short term which will enhance facilities.
