Unfortunately due to Covid we can’t have our annual open evening here at Dunseverick Primary School. Enjoy watching this short video to give you a snap shot of some of the things we get up to in our school. Please get in touch via email (lsmyth682@c2kni.net) or by contacting our school office (028 207 31600) to book an appointment to meet with the principal, get a full tour of our school and see all our facilities and what we can offer children and families starting school in September 2021.

DE & PHA Guidance
We are sending out information today which has been sent to us from the Education Authority. Please read it carefully and keep somewhere safe as a reference point should your child become unwell.
Lunch Menu
For week beginning Monday 14th September, we will be following Week 1 on the school lunch menu. There has been a slight change to menu – Tuesday’s lunch will be fish fingers, mash, veg and gravy instead of Irish Stew
Medication
If your child requires medication to be taken/stored in school e.g. an inhaler, please inform the class teacher and a medication form will be sent home. Please ensure this is completed and returned as soon as possible and ensure we have in date, prescribed medication in school. The only medication we are allowed to administer is that which has been prescribed by a doctor.
Milk Money
Milk for this term will cost £11.76. If you would like your child to take milk, please book and pay for it via school money. If we have not received booking and money by Friday 18th September, we will assume that your child will not be taking milk. Children in reception class are entitled to milk with no charge.
Breakfast Club
Our ‘socially distanced’ breakfast club is working very well. Please remember that if your child needs to be in school before 8.40am, they must use breakfast club (£1.05). This is the only supervision in school at this time.
223 Club/Play & Stay
When booking spaces for either 223 club or play and stay, payment should be made at the time of booking to secure your child’s place
Birthday Wishes
Special birthday wishes to Rose, Mya, Owen, Willow and Jonathan.
Friday Newsletter – 4th September 2020
Well Done & Thank You!
Well, we have reached the end of what was a very different first week for us all here in school. I want to say a massive well done to each and every one of the children. They have adapted so well to all the new routines and procedures in place and are just getting on with the ‘new normal’. I would also like to thank all of you, our parents, for also following and adapting to all the new procedures in school. So far, everything seems to be working well – long may it continue. Our main priority in school, as always, is to ensure that every child is safe and that we continue to provide the best learning experiences and opportunities.
Data Collection
Could any remaining data collection sheets, permission slips and Covid Home/School agreements please be returned to school on Monday 7th September?
Lunch Menu
For week beginning Monday 7th September, we will be following Week 2 on the school lunch menu.
School Uniform
It is lovely to see all our children looking so smart in their new uniform. A few reminders:
– Boys should be wearing grey trousers/shorts
– Girls should be wearing grey trousers/skirts/pinafores
– Long hair must be tied back
– Children are permitted to wear one pair of small stud earrings
If, for any reason this cannot be adhered to, please inform me in writing. Please also make sure that ALL items of school clothing are clearly labelled.
Healthy Breaks & Lunches
We do promote healthy eating in school and encourage children to make healthy choices. Our school kitchen provides healthy and nutritious meals and also items for snack at break time. Please try to limit lunchbox treats to one per day. Thank you.
223 Club/Play & Stay
When booking spaces for either 223 club or play and stay, payment should be made at the time of booking to secure your child’s place
Seesaw
Thank you to everyone who has downloaded the seesaw app. Teachers will be using Seesaw as the main method of communication. Messages will be responded to between 8.30am and 5pm. Outside of these times, teachers will only respond to messages in exceptional circumstances.
Safeguarding
Just a reminder to all Parents, Guardians and Children who is on the Safeguarding Team at Dunseverick. Mrs Scott is the Designated Teacher for Child Protection and Mrs Smyth is a member of the Safeguarding Team. If you ever have any worries, queries or concerns please contact any member of the Safeguarding Team.
Breakfast Club
Our ‘socially distanced’ breakfast club is working very well. Please remember that if your child needs to be in school before 8.40am, they must use breakfast club (£1.05). This is the only supervision in school at this time.
Nut Allergy
Our school is a NUT FREE zone and parents should be mindful of this when preparing breaks and lunches to send into school. Thanks
