And breathe ………
We have reached the end of our first half term and what a busy but fantastic term it has been.  Thank you to all the pupils, staff and parents for their continued support. We are looking forward to next term and all that it will bring.

Parent Consultations
Thank you to all the parents who have attended parent consultations this week.  Remember we have an open door policy in school and if parents ever need to speak to class teachers just call in, speak to Dawn and she will inform the class teacher.

Pumpkin Carving
Thank you to all the children who entered the pumpkin carving competition.  Rosemary, Judith and Claire had the hard task of picking the winning designs.  Well done to the following children:

Half Term
Just a reminder that school will finish today at 2pm for half term break.  Pupils will return to school on Tuesday 7th November 2017.

Behaviour Reward
A massive well done to all our classes who achieved the behaviour award this week.  They have earned some time over in the park.

Class Assembly
Thank you to Primary 7 for taking assembly on Thursday morning. We hope all parents and friends enjoyed it.

It will be Mrs Scott’s P5/6 class taking assembly on Thursday 23rd November. Parents and friends of children in P5/6 will be invited to come along and enjoy the assembly.

Christmas Theatre Trip
We will be attending the Braid Arts Centre in Ballymena on Wednesday 20th December to see the pantomime, Tangled.  As a school, we are pleased to be able to subsidise the cost of this trip to reduce the cost to £6. We will be sending out permission slips when we return after half term break.

School Development Day
School will be closed on Monday 6th November for staff training.  We will be focusing on World Around us topics and themes and will also be updating school website and we will be receiving training on using iPads in the classroom.

Derrykeighan Community Association are organising a shopping trip to Belfast on Saturday 25th November costing £8 per seat. Contact Joanne Nicholl (07762673681) for more details and to books seat.

Big Breakfast
Derrykeighan Community Association are holding their Autumn big breakfast on Saturday 11th November 9.45 – 11.30am.  Adults £5, Kids £3.
