Dear Parents, Guardians and Friends of Dunseverick,
It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as the new Principal of Dunseverick Primary School. I can honestly say I felt drawn to this school from the moment I saw it. How lucky are pupils, parents and staff to live and work in this beautiful part of the North Coast.
As a mum I know only too well the trials and tribulations that come with a new school year – new teachers, friendships, homework and new routines. We all need a period of settling in and finding our feet. I asked my seven year old son his advice on my role as a principal to which he replied, “Mum you just want the kids to be happy, you care for them, that’s it”, so that is my starting point. I know the staff and I will do everything possible to make this year a great year for your children. Our goal is to sow the seeds of possibility, learning, creativity, health and well-being.
I look forward to getting to know everyone over the coming weeks and months. My sincere thanks go to Miss Roe, teaching & support staff and Board of Governors for all their hard work. Thank you to the parents and pupils for their continued support in making Dunseverick Primary such a special place to be.
With my very best wishes,
Ms Gillian Martin
