It’s a girl!
On Thursday 19th November, we were delighted to hear of the safe arrival of Miss Cassie-Jane Smyth, born 7lb 8oz. A massive congratulations and best wishes to Mrs Smyth and her husband on the birth of their beautiful baby girl. We all look forward to meeting Cassie-Jane.

Open Afternoon Thanks
Thank you to everybody who attended our Open Afternoon! It proved to be a great success and opportunity for potential new starts in Reception and P1 to see around the school. Application forms will be available from our school office on Friday 27th November for any children due to start Reception and P1 in the 2016/17 school year. Completed forms should be sent to Mrs Boyd along with the child’s original birth certificate no later than 12 noon on Wednesday 13th January 2016. Please pass this information on to any parent who has a child due to start our school.

Christmas Dinner
Our Christmas lunch for children and staff this year is being held on Thursday 3rd December 2015. Reception children may also stay for lunch on this day.

Transfer Test
Best wishes to all our pupils who will sit their final AQE transfer test this Saturday morning. They have all worked very hard and we are very proud of what they have all achieved.

Theatre Trip Reminder
A final reminder of our upcoming trip to Aladdin in the Millennium Forum in Londonderry on Thursday 17th December. The cost for this trip (subsidised) is £10 per child and any outstanding money or bookings should be paid in full on or before Friday 27th November.

We would ask parents to bring their children to school on time.  Good timekeeping is a skill for life.  If you continually bring your child late to school they lose out on valuable class time and disrupt the class routine.  Teachers will be keeping a record of late comers.  Being on time to collect them is equally important.  If for any reason you are delayed please contact the office in ample time to inform the class teacher.

Grandparent’s Dinner
As you are aware this is a busy term in our school calendar with Christmas concerts, trips and other events.  We are therefore postponing our Grandparent’s dinner to a later date.

Jack Horner Open Evening
Jack Horner Pre-School based at the Sheskburn Community Centre, Ballycastle, will be holding an Open Evening for parents and carers on Wednesday 25th November at 7pm-8pm. This is an evening designed to provide guidance and ideas for parents and carers in relation to how children learn during their pre-school year and to provide information on the setting itself.
