Class Assembly
Mrs Bell’s P4/5 class will be taking assembly on Thursday 25th January at 9.30am. Parents and friends of children in P4/5 will be invited to come along and enjoy the assembly and enjoy some tea/coffee and scones after.  More details will follow in the New Year.

Unfortunately, our school is being hit by a lot of illness at the moment.  We hope the children will feel much better soon.  Please be advised that children should not return to school until 48hours after the last bout of illness.  This is to let the child fully recover and prevent further spread.

If you haven’t already checked, a letter was sent home on Tuesday with lots of information and important dates.  Something to pin to the fridge!

Movie & Munch Night
Thank you to Friends of Dunseverick for our organising our Movie and Munch night.  The children had a great evening and enjoyed yummy hot chocolate and popcorn

Tesco Bag Pack

We still need volunteers!
Friends of Dunseverick have secured a slot for bag packing in Tesco, Ballymoney on Monday 18th December.  We are asking for volunteers to help with the bag pack.  A rota will be put on the front door. Please fill in your name at any time you would be available to help.  We are also hoping to take our P5/6 class to Tesco on the same day to do some carol singing.

Inclement Weather
Weather forecasts have been warning of severe weather and snowfall.  We have an ‘Inclement Weather’ policy on our website which explains the procedures for closing school due to the weather (fingers crossed we won’t need to). I have sent out a text message to everyone today to make sure everyone is receiving texts. Text Messaging is our first communication method should we need to close school and I am asking that if you did not receive the text message can you email me, with your mobile number and I can add your number to this service.

Thank you to Judith, Rosemary and Claire for a delicious Christmas lunch which we all enjoyed.

Monday 19th December – Trip to Millenium forum
Tuesday 20th December – Trip to Tesco
Wednesday 21st December – School finishes 12 noon
Thursday 5th January – All Pupils back to school

It is hard to believe we are nearing the end of term already. This will be the final Wednesday letter before we break up for our Christmas holidays. As a staff we would like to wish everyone connected with our school God’s richest blessings and hope that everyone has a safe, peaceful and relaxing Christmas and New Year.

Christmas Concerts
Massive congratulations to all our pupils on two fabulous performances!! We are so proud of all of you and thank you for putting us all in the Christmas spirit.

Christmas Gift Boxes
Thank you for all the generous donations. We look forward to presenting a cheque to the Alzheimers Society in the New Year.

Christmas Jumper Day
We are having a Christmas Jumper day on Wednesday 21st December and are asking for a £1 contribution towards NSPCC.

After School Clubs
We have a few spaces left in Cookery club – any P5’s who would like to join cookery club please ring Barbara in the morning at 8.30am. Places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Unfortunately we do not have enough interest for Fun with Drums for the P4-P7 session. P4 – P7 children are invited to attend the 2pm – 3pm session of Fun with Drums.

Regrettably there is not enough interest in Spanish and we would need some more children to sign up if this club is to be available.

Arrangements for Theatre Trip
All pupils are looking forward to our trip to the Millennium Forum on Monday 19th December to see ‘Cinderella’. The arrangements for this trip are as follows:

School will begin at the normal time of 9.10 a.m. Both the Yellow bus and Ulsterbus will be available to transport pupils to school

10:00 a.m. – Pupils will have an early break time. Breakfast club will be available on this day.

11.00 a.m. – Pupils leave school by bus to the Millennium Forum

All pupils need to bring a packed lunch on this day which will be eaten on arrival at the Millennium Forum (eg. Non fizzy drink, sandwiches, crackers, cheese, fruit, – all disposable!!)

Children on Free school meals can order a packed lunch from our school kitchen. Orders should be placed by Thursday 15th December. Please let the office know.

1:15pm – Pantomime begins

Approx. 3:30pm – Pupils begin to leave the Millennium Forum

5:00pm – Pupils return to school

Both the Yellow bus and Ulsterbus will not be running at this time and parents should collect their children by car.

We would ask parents to ensure they do not block the bus stop area when collecting pupils, to allow our buses to park safely.

School Holidays
School will finish for all pupils on Wednesday 21st December at 12 noon. Unfortunately the Yellow and Blue Buses will not operate on this date so parents will need to leave their children to school and collect them at 12 noon. School will re-open on Thursday 5th January 2017.

Prospective P1 Parents
All enrolment forms for pupils starting school in September 2017 need to be returned to school before 12 noon on Wednesday 11th January.

Tesco Trip
On Tuesday 20th December some of our P4 – P7 pupils will be singing in Tesco, Ballymoney to entertain shoppers. Pupils will also get to take part in a ‘Farm to Fork’ activity.
