Sports Evening

A massive thank you to everyone who came along to school on Wednesday evening for Sports Evening.  This was a new idea we decided to trial this year and we are delighted to say it was a huge success – we hope everyone thought so to.  

We raised £200 to put towards school funds.

School Closure

School will be closed on Monday 27thMay for bank holiday.

School will also be closed on Tuesday 28thMay for a staff development day.

Lunch Menu

Dinner menu for Monday 27thMay we will be following Week 2 on the lunch menu.

Fantastic Plastic

Primary 6 have been invited to attend this event in Ballycastle High School on Wednesday 29thMay from 10.00am – 1.30pm.  They will be exploring plastic through Technology, Science and Home Economics.  Children will need a packed lunch. 

Walk to School Week

Thank you to everyone who participated in Walk to School week. The children (and parents) seemed to really enjoy walking to school together. We might explore the ‘Walking Bus’ idea further for next year – watch this space!

Name the Doll

Over the next 2 weeks, we will be sending a doll round the classes and allowing the children to guess the name of the doll. It will cost 50p for one guess or £1 for 3 guesses.  The name and winner will be announced at the Summer Fair on 7thJune.

Cycling Proficiency

P7 have received a letter regarding cycling proficiency which will start on Monday 3thJune.  Please return all permission slips on or before this date.

Summer Fair

Preparations have started for our Summer Fair which is being held on Friday 7thJune – 6.30pm – 8pm

We are asking children to bring in an unopened bottle of something (sauce, juice, shower gel, no alcohol please) to use as Bottle Tombola on the night.

We would also like children to fill a jam jar with sweets/treats and bring them into school and be used for a ‘Sweetie Stall’.  All bottles/sweet jars should be brought into school on or before Thursday 6thJune.

Reception/P1 – Class Assembly

Parents, grandparents and friends of our Reception/Primary 1 children are invited to a special class assembly on Thursday 6thJune at 9.30am. This will be a celebration of the children’s work and we look forward to welcoming you all to school.  Please stay for tea/coffee afterwards.

Friends of Dunseverick are holding a Break the Rules day on Tuesday 16thApril. Please can all slips be returned to school on Monday 15thApril.

Easter Holidays

School will close at 12 noon on Tuesday 16thApril for Easter. School will reopen on Monday 29thApril.

Lunch Menu

Dinner menu for Monday 15thApril will be: Chicken Bites or Sausages with Garlic Fires/Herb Dice & Veg, Ice Cream and Fruit. 

On Monday 29thApril we will be following Week 2 on the lunch menu.


Can any remaining payments for milk please be paid as soon as possible?

Can all remaining photograph orders please be sent to school on or before Tuesday 16thApril.

School Holidays

A provisional list of school holidays for 2019/2020 school year is being sent home today. This is subject to change but we will notify parents as soon as possible when and if any changes are made.


School will be closed on Thursday 2ndMay for local elections.


In summer term children are allowed to wear summer uniform; girls can wear grey shorts/blue or green gingham dresses and boys can wear grey shorts.

Here’s hoping the good weather continues.

P5/P7 Swimming

Mrs Milligan’s P5’s and P7’s will start swimming on Monday 29thApril(1stday back after Easter holidays) Information is being sent home today.

Community Notices

Toberkeigh G.A.

G.A. will start again in Toberkeigh Church Hall on Friday 5thApril 2019 @ 7:00-8:30p.m.  

All girls aged 4 – 15years very welcome!  Bible stories, songs, special guests, crafts and games.

Christmas Shows

We are looking forward to performing our Christmas shows ‘Do they Know it’s Christmas’ (P4,5,6,7)and ‘Angel Express’ (rec, P1,2,3).

Both shows will be performed on both Tuesday 18thand Wednesday 19thDecember.

‘Angel Express’ will start at 9.30am on both days.

‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’ will start at 11am on both days.  Tea/Coffee and mince pies will be available on both days between the performances and there will be a collection at both shows for school funds.

Friends of Dunseverick

Thank you to all the parents who helped with the door collection at Tesco, Ballymoney last Saturday. We collected £723, which is absolutely amazing.

Rec/P1/P2 Trip

On Monday 17thDecember our pupils from Reception, P1 and P2 have been invited to watch the Nativity at Seesaw playgroup in Mosside. Children will leave school at 9.30am and will be back in time for lunch. Seesaw playgroup are providing break for our children.

Movie & Munch Night

Thank you to Friends of Dunseverick for organising our movie and munch night. Everyone had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the hot chocolate, popcorn and top hats. 

Food Bank Donations

WOW, WOW, WOW! We are totally amazed at the generosity of everyone in our school. The amount and variety of food and other donations which we were able to give the foodbank was overwhelming. Rev. Stanbridge and the team of volunteers are so grateful for each and every item which they received.


All costumes for school plays need to be in school on Monday 17thDecember. 

Milk Money

Milk money for Term 2 will be £13.87.  This can be paid using school money. If your child would like to start taking milk, please let Dawn know before Friday 14thDecember. Likewise, if your child no longer wants to take milk, please let Dawn know as soon as possible.

Last Day of Term

We will finish at 12 noon for our Christmas Holidays on Friday 21stDecember. This will be a non-uniform day – feel free to wear Christmas jumpers. Breakfast Club and Break Club are both available and both buses will run as normal at 12 noon.
