World Book Day
We have had a wonderful day celebrating World Book Day. Children enjoyed listening to our special storytellers Billy Teare and Kathleen O’Sullivan. An enormous THANK YOU to everyone for dressing up and bringing in your favourite books. There were lots of big smiles in school today!

Parking
Please pass on to friends/relatives who collect children at home time that the PSNI have asked drivers to refrain from:

  • parking on double yellow lines;
  • parking on the footpath;
  • parking within 15m of the junction at Feigh Rd;
  • parking in the designated bus stop.

School Uniform
Please ensure children wear full school uniform to school each day including black school shoes. Trainers can be brought to school to change into for football during playtime.

After – Schools Clubs
Children are reminded that they need to bring a change of clothes for football and dance. There will be NO Eco club or Football next week as Miss Simpson and Mr Bell are on the residential trip to Woodhall.

Portstewart Festival
A massive congratulations to all our pupils who have participated in the festival this week. Good luck to those who still need to perform.

Gardening
Andy, a volunteer, will be coming into school on Friday 3rd March to work with some pupils from P4 & P5 to enhance an area of the school grounds with shrubs and flowers. P4 & P5 children should bring a change of footwear on Friday. Andy fundraises for ‘Boom Charity’ and also Macmillan Nurses. It would be greatly appreciated if parents would donate 50p or £1 to show our support for these worthwhile charities.

Bowling
Primary 4 children will have the opportunity to experience indoor bowling in school on Friday 3rd March. Please bring trainers on Friday.

Woodhall
Just a reminder that the final amount for the Woodhall trip needs to be paid this week. We look forward to hearing all about the trip and seeing lots of photographs.

See Saw Playgroup
Seesaw Playgroup is holding a Table Quiz on Thursday 2nd March at 7.30pm in the Community Centre. Admission is £4 per adult and will include refreshments. Tickets will also be on sale for the Easter Draw.

Photographs

Cool for School photography will be in school on Friday 24th February to take annual school pictures. Family pictures will be taken during the school day but if any parents wish to have photographs taken with younger/older family siblings who are not at school please come to school at 8.30am to have photos taken.

World Book Day
We are celebrating World Book Day, on Wednesday 1st March. We are looking forward to welcoming Billy Teare, a story teller into school on that day and also seeing the children dress up as a favourite character out of a book. We would encourage children to design and make their own costumes and also to bring their favourite book/story into school on that day so we can share with the rest of the class

Woodhall
Just a reminder that the final amount for the Woodhall trip needs to be paid by Wednesday 1st March 2017. Medical forms, an itinerary and a pupil/parent contract have been sent home today.

After – Schools Clubs
After School Clubs will start on Monday 27th February. All children have secured a place in their 1st choice club. For those children attending Dance Club or Football club they will need to bring a change of clothes. There are still a few spaces left for Eco club and Dance Club.

Portstewart Festival
We are looking forward to some of our pupils participating in the festival again this year. The pupils are very excited about performing on stage. Parents are reminded that they will need to take their child to and from the festival and if during the school day should leave the child back to school.

Internet Safety Day
We celebrated Internet Safety Day in school yesterday and completed activities about staying safe online. Key Stage 2 children are looking forward to a visit from the PSNI next Wednesday to talk more about staying safe online.

Half Term
Just a reminder for all parents that school will be closed on Thursday 16th, Friday 17th, Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st February for half term break. School will reopen on Wednesday 22nd February. Breakfast club and 223 club will recommence on this day as well.

Portstewart Festival
Children will have received a note home with the date and time they are performing at Portstewart Festival. We have the actual tickets in school and will distribute these to the children on the day that they are participating.

Music Tuition
Miss McDermott will be in school this Friday (10th February) for those pupils who play the clarinet and flute. This is to compensate for the lesson which the children will miss when they are off for half term. A letter is also going home today offering pupils the opportunity of harp and piano tuition. Please check school bags!

P6/7 Woodhall Trip
Just a reminder that the final amount for the Woodhall trip needs to be paid by Wednesday 1st March 2017. Medical forms, a kit list, an itinerary and a pupil/parent contract will be sent home next week.

World Book day this year is on 2nd March. Unfortunately school is closed on that date for the election so we have decided to celebrate World Book Day, on Wednesday 1st March.
