Meet the Teacher Evening
Thank you to all the parents who attended ‘Meet the Teacher’ evening on Monday. We hope that the evening was beneficial and you now have a better insight into the day to day activities in your child’s classroom.
Sponsored Walk
On Friday 2nd October 2015 we are holding a sponsored walk and BBQ to raise money to purchase an Interactive Whiteboard and also to help subsidise a whole school trip to the theatre. (Please note a change of date – originally to be held on 18th September.) The walk will start from Portballintrae Village Hall at 6pm and there are 3 routes which can be followed. Everyone should return to the village hall where they will have the opportunity to purchase a burger/hotdog from the BBQ and also tea and coffee.
Exceptional Closure
Just a reminder that school will closed for staff training on Monday 28th September 2015
Mr McCullough
Mr McCullough has asked to pass on his thanks for the generous gift which he received in June. He has purchased a watch and leather holdall with the money which he was given.
Book Fair
Our scholastic book fair is due to run again this year during the week beginning 5th October. The fair will be open for purchases on the Thursday and Friday mornings from 8.30am – 9.30am and on the Thursday and Friday afternoons from 2pm – 3.15pm. Wednesday is a browsing day for pupils only during the school day. If parents are unable to attend the Book Fair, they can send money with pupils, so that they can purchase a book with their class teacher.
Violin & Woodwind
We are delighted to welcome Mr Elliott and Miss McDermott back to school this year to provide specialist music tuition to some of our pupils. We look forward to hearing the children play at upcoming school events.
Money
If possible, can parents please send in correct money for dinner/milk/break club.

Bushmills Salmon & Whiskey Festival
This event being held in Bushmills from Friday 18th – Sunday 20th September. A celebration & Promotion of Local Culture, Heritage & Produce. Organised by the Bushmills Traders Association
Flu Vaccines
All children in school will have received a letter regarding the flu vaccination. Can these letters be returned to your child’s teacher by Wednesday 23rd September 2015? Thanks.
Harp/Piano Tuition
One of parents is a classically trained harpist/pianist and is offering private lessons to school pupils. Please see attached letter for more details.
