Sponsored Walk
Thank you to everyone who supported our Sponsored Walk and BBQ on Friday evening.  A special thank you to Chris Freeman and Alan Chestnutt for giving of their time to BBQ for us.  To date we have collected £1155.  Well Done.  Could all remaining sponsorship money please be returned to school by Friday 16th October? Thanks.

Parent Interviews
There are still a few parent interview request forms to be returned to school. Interview times will be sent home with your child on Friday, therefore could any more parent interview request letters please be sent to class teachers tomorrow (Thursday 7th October).

Book Fair
Our scholastic book fair arrived in school yesterday.  The fair will be open for purchases on the Thursday and Friday mornings from 8.30am – 9.30am and on the Thursday and Friday afternoons from 2pm – 3.15pm.  Today is a browsing day for pupils only during the school day.  If parents are unable to attend the Book Fair, they can send money with pupils, so that they can purchase a book with their class teacher.

Community Notices
Please see back of newsletter for community events and reply slips.

It has been brought to my attention that a few children are coming into school late and being collected late on a regular basis.  Could I remind parents that school starts at 9.10am and finishes at 2pm (P1-P3) and 3pm(P4-P7).  The ‘late’ children not only miss out on the run around before school starts, but they also miss out on vital information that is shared at the start of class.  This can be unsettling for the children and the class concerned.  Please feel free to follow the link below and read information supplied by the Department of Education regarding school attendance.

Christmas Theatre Trip
We have booked to take the children to see Aladdin in the Millennium Forum in Londonderry on Thursday 17th December.  The cost for this trip (subsidised) is £10 per child.  This can be paid in full or in 3 instalments before Friday 27th November.  Please complete the attached form to indicate your choice of payment.

After School Clubs
We are pleased to be able to offer Hockey for an afterschool’s club to children in P5, P6 and P7.  A member of Portrush Hockey club will be coaching the children.  This will start on Monday 2nd November 2015 from 3pm – 4pm costing £1 per session.  Spaces are limited to 20 and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  Please contact Dawn in the office from 8.30am on Thursday 8th October to book a place.  Children are encouraged to wear shin guards and mouth guards to play hockey.  Payment can be made weekly or for the term which would be £1 cheaper. (£5)
