It is hard to believe we are nearing the end of term already. This will be the final Wednesday letter before we break up for our Christmas holidays. As a staff we would like to wish everyone connected with our school God’s richest blessings and hope that everyone has a safe, peaceful and relaxing Christmas and New Year.

Important reminders

  • No swimming for P5/6 on Monday 14th
  • Hockey Club has now finished. Many thanks to Jonny from Portrush Hockey Club for sharing his skills and expertise. The children thoroughly enjoyed their Monday afternoon sessions.
  • There will be no 223 club week beginning 14th December due to Christmas concert preparations. 223 club will recommence on Monday 4th

Christmas Gift Boxes
Thank you to all those who have already returned their Christmas gift boxes. More templates are available from the school office should you require one.  All proceeds this year will the given to ‘The Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice’. No names are required on the boxes and as little or as much as you wish to donate will be welcomed.  We would appreciate it if these could be returned to school by Friday 18th December.

Christmas Concerts
On Tuesday 15th December 2015, the Reception – P3 performance will take place at 9.45am.  At 10.45am on the same date, the P4-P7 performance will take place.  Parents are welcome to wait in school between performances if there is an older brother/sister in the later performance.  Tea and Coffee will be available. The same arrangements will be in place on Wednesday 16th December 2015.  The offering at both these services will be in aid of the ‘The Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice’.

Arrangements for Theatre Trip
Another reminder of the arrangements for our whole school trip to Aladdin on Thursday 17th December.

  • School will begin at the normal time of 9.10 a.m. Both the Yellow bus and Ulsterbus will be available to transport pupils to school/
  • 10:00 a.m. – Pupils will have an early break time. Breakfast club will be available on this day.
  • 00 a.m. – Pupils leave school by bus to the Millennium Forum

All pupils need to bring a packed lunch on this day which will be eaten on arrival at the Millennium Forum  (eg. Non fizzy drink, bread snack, crisps, fruit, biscuit – all disposable!!)

Children on Free school meals can order a packed lunch from our school kitchen. Orders should be placed by Monday 14th December.

  • 1:15pm – Pantomime begins
  • 4pm – Pupils begin to leave the Millennium Forum
  • Approx 5-5.30pm – Pupils return to school

Both the Yellow bus and Ulsterbus will not be running at this time and parents should collect their children by car. Please be reminded this is a whole school trip therefore, there will be no supervision in school for any children not attending the performance.

School Holidays
School will finish for all pupils on Friday 18th December at 12 noon.  Both Yellow and Blue Buses will operate on this date.   School will re-open on Monday 4th January 2016.

Christmas Jumper Day
To get into the Christmas spirit we are having a Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 18th December. No donation is required on this day.

Christmas Dinner
As usual, our School Kitchen staff prepared a wonderful Christmas lunch for us, with turkey and all the trimmings. Both children and staff thoroughly enjoyed their Christmas dinner and wish to thank our wonderful kitchen staff for all their hard work and preparations. We would also like to thank our parent volunteers who so generously gave of their time to help. A further thanks goes to Mr and Mrs Dunlop of the Bushmills Inn for their kind donation of Christmas crackers which really added to the Christmas atmosphere.
