On Friday 16th October, we had 2 special visitors to our school Assembly, Mrs Jackie Colgan and her daughter Jayne. Jackie and Jayne came to our school to present us with a DEFIBRILLATOR!!
After Jackie’s son took unwell at the start of this year, Jackie decided that she wanted to do some fundraising to collect money to buy one defibrillator. Jackie’s fundraising efforts were outstanding and Jackie was actually able to buy 3 defibrillators. Jackie lives locally in Ballintoy and we were very fortunate that Jackie and her son, James, decided that Dunseverick Primary School should be a recipient of one of these defibrillators.
As a school, we are totally overwhelmed by the generosity of the Colgan Family and all those people in our local community who contributed to the different fundraising events Jackie held, to raise the money.
We are delighted to have this special piece of life saving equipment in our school. Four members of staff will attend training tomorrow so that we know how to use it properly – fingers crossed though, that we never have to use it!!
We can’t thank the Colgan Family enough for choosing our school to receive this equipment.
